THE SMARTEST TELESCOPE IN THE UNIVERSE!

A truly revolutionary product with ground breaking technology, SkyProdigy is the product of a culmination of decades of telescope advancements. It combines electronic motors, an intelligent on-board computer, a digital camera and StarSense technology to create an automatic, instant alignment telescope that requires no input from the user. Simply turn it on, push a button and enjoy the view!  It’s that easy.

The SkyProdigy’s automatic alignment process takes only a few minutes, then you will be ready to select from thousands of objects to view. Not sure what to look at?  Select the Sky Tour option; this feature offers a customized list of the best objects in the sky to view for your exact time and location anywhere in the world!

No knowledge of the night sky is required. One touch innovation turns anyone into an instant astronomer!

HOW DOES SKYPRODIGY WORK?

SkyProdigy incorporates Celestron's proprietary StarSense technology, a dramatic evolution in telescope alignment technology. StarSense completely circumvents the often frustrating alignment process of current “go-to" telescopes. StarSense allows the telescope to automatically align itself without any user intervention.

  • To begin, the user simply turns the telescope on. SkyProdigy automatically points to three different locations in the night sky using the electronic motor drives.
  • At the three locations the "eye“ of the telescope (i.e. integrated digital camera) "looks" at the night sky and automatically determines where the telescope is pointed.
  • StarSense technology allows SkyProdigy to recognize the sky by comparing the images from the three locations to an internal database of star positions. This is all accomplished in approximately three minutes, dramatically faster than other technologies.
  • Unlike other "automatic alignment" technologies for telescopes, StarSense does not require input of external date, time, or location to align itself. It eliminates the need for expensive hardware such as an internal GPS, electronic compass or an accelerometer, which makes SkyProdigy much more affordable.
  • StarSense makes SkyProdigy the most intelligent, easy to use auto-alignment telescope on the market.
